Just finished an all-star weekend in Vail, CO.

"Were referred to Vail International through friends, and it was a home-run. Extremely well located, properly run and cared for by the friendly staff who were very easy and low-key to deal with from booking through check-out. Relatively reasonable given that we stayed Thurs-Mon on a holiday weekend (mlk). Great amenities in nice pool, steam, hot-tub, and gym, and a very well-appointed and updated unit with washer/dryer, fireplaces and Wi-Fi. Free parking to-boot!

Vail is less about your lodging and more about the overall experience. We did breakfast in the unit, picked up a coffee for the gondola and enjoyed breaking land-speed records in China Bowl (62.2mph, clocked thanks to the new Ski Tracks app), as well as coors light consumption records (26DCLs/3 thirsty skiers in 2 hours) while partying with our old friend Johnny Mogambo at apres-ski at Pepi's.

Enjoyed some great dinners at Sweet Basil, and the Chop House, and couldn't have picked a better place to watch the NFC Championship game, then mid-Vail's new dining option the 10th. Great new spot for a little more upscale on-mountain dining. A little elk bolognese and rioja w/a great football game was a newer, yet no less welcome, addition to the overall skiing experience.

Wish we were back there now, instead of sitting at our desks, but only one way to pay for those trips to Vail.. As they say, work sucks, but you need the bucks!"
