How to Get to Vail International

Fly to Eagle County Regional Airport

The Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE) is located 37 miles to the west of Vail in Gypsum, CO. The drive to Vail from the airport is mostly on I-70 and there aren’t any mountain passes to cross. In the winter, the airport has direct flights from more than 15 US cities with connections from almost every airport in the US. The airport is served by United, American, Delta and Alaska airlines.

To get from EGE or Denver to Vail International, you can rent a car, which you probably won’t need when you are staying in Vail as the public busses are free, or you can take a transfer service.

Epic Mountain Express operates scheduled shuttles from both Denver and Eagle airports to Vail. They usually provide a discount for Epic Pass holders.

Core Transit is a public bus option between EGE and Vail. The Valley Route is the most direct to and from the Eagle airport to Vail. All busses stop at the Vail Transportation Center and some stop at the top of the Lionshead Parking Garage, which is just to the west of Vail International. The service runs approximately hourly and fares each way to or from the EGE airport cost $3 (ages 19-59), $1 (age 60+) and free for 18 and under.

Fly to the Denver International Airport

Denver International Airport (DEN) is just to the north east of Denver, making it a 116 mile trip to Vail. DEN is a hub for United and Southwest and most major airlines offer service to the airport.
