Are you looking to ski powder in Vail? The month of January is usually the best time to ski light and dry snow. You will generally have the mountain to yourself on weekdays and be able to ski lots of vertical each day. If there is a big new snowfall, then you can walk to the lifts and be in line at the chair 15 minutes before it opens, putting you way ahead of anyone who is driving up from Denver. On the days when there isn’t any fresh powder, the groomed runs will still be smooth until the middle of the day as the resort is not crowded. On mountain dining as well as restaurants in town – it’s much easier to find a good table during January than it is during holiday time periods.
If you have the flexibility in your schedule to come to Vail for 7 – 14 nights in January and early February, your ski vacation won’t feel rushed as it would on a shorter stay when you feel as if you have to ski every moment of every day. With free WiFi at Vail International, you’ll be able to check in with work, so that you’re not completely off the grid. Of course you can also use the WiFi to access your Netflix or Amazon Prime videos.
Rates for 2BR/2BA condos start at $420 per night for 7+ night stays, Jan 5 – Feb 13, 2019, plus 9.8% tax and a one time housekeeping fee of $48.
